Clip n Climb Sessions

May 5th 2024 – Spectrum session with Clip n Climb Cambridge

We hope that you can join us at our Spectrum-dedicated, socially distanced session at Clip n Climb Cambridge.

Clip n Climb Cambridge (CnC) is where climbing centre meets theme park, and you can experience 20 unique climbing challenges that twist, turn, light and excite. Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge is the first in the East of England and is primarily suitable for everyone from 4 years upwards and is the ultimate fun and healthy activity for you to enjoy with your friends and family. Smaller harnesses are also available for toddlers, as are cradles for those with significant physical disabilities.

It would be beneficial if you were aware of how to clip/unclip your child from a climbing wall, but this can be taught on the day. Please only request places if you are sure you will be attending.

Please ensure that you have read all notes provided prior to requesting places.

Confirmations and the waiting list places for this session will be issued before the end of April. We always send an email to every request received once the event is processed.

Sunday, May 5th
9am – 10am
No Charge
Max 24 Children

Event Summary

The session is scheduled for between 9 am and 10 am.

You will need to be at the venue just before 9 am on the day; no transport is provided to the venue. Tuition on the centre, its facilities, PPE, and climbing safety is provided at each session’s start. There are facilities at the venue to get drinks and snacks also.

We can currently take a maximum of 24 climbers per session, and our focus is purely on children climbing at this stage in the first instance. Spectators attending can join their child in the climbing area to watch and support them.

Presently, place requests are also limited to one spectator per child. There are no exceptions to this rule, and any requests over this spectator ratio will automatically be rejected unless explained in the notes.

Our climbing sessions always receive a high amount of requests, and we always rotate attendance at the sessions to ensure as many families as possible have the chance to attend over time. There is always a waiting list for these sessions, and changes can occur, meaning places become available, sometimes at very short notice. Still, waiting list numbers will be slightly higher during this reduced capacity period than usual.

We have enjoyed many fantastic times with the Clip n Climb team, who have an extremely supportive team over the years. If you have not attended one of our climbing sessions before, an overview of our work with Clip n Climb can be found here, which includes a range of photos from the sessions: https://spectrum.org.uk/clip-n-climb-cambridge

Recommendation

If you are a Facebook user, we recommend joining our private members-only Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/spectrumcio – you will need your membership number with us (starts with the letters SC) after you request to join.

As well as general information, we post here when confirmations, QR codes, reminders and so forth are sent out, so you can be sure to check your email at the right times. This is helpful as many mail providers can filter such emails to junk and other areas, so you can be sure you don’t miss anything or lose your places if it doesn’t land in your main inbox directly.

Our Instagram & Facebook stories are also good places to get news in advance and see the different things we are working on behind the scenes. We also post images, reels and stories to Instagram of our visits to Clip n Climb Cambridge!

Venue Address

Event Notes - Important

Please remember that prior to attending any of our sessions, days out or events we need you to complete one of our Membership forms. These need to be completed for insurance coverage purposes and also to help us plan future events. You only need to complete a membership form once a year and this will cover you for all future events and session attendances in the same calendar year.

Please note if you request places for an event and do not make payment (if applicable) for the trip prior to the cut off date provided for that trip, your places will automatically be offered to any persons on the waiting list to ensure the trip is as full as possible.

Places Required
Please note that due to capacity limitations, all climbing spaces are for children only at present, and we can only accommodate ONE spectator per child.
Please list the name of each child CLIMBING in your party and their relationship to you.
We work to a 1-2-1 ratio of climbers to spectators for these sessions at present. If for any reason your number of requested spectators is higher than your number of climbers then please provide the reason for this below. Every additional spectator place reduces the number of children that can climb.

Health Protection

Due to the nature of the children we support, a person can’t attend our events whilst ill.

This guidance is in line with the Health Protection Agency and similar to that of many local schools. We can’t accept a person at an event or session with sickness/diarrhoea until they have been clear of this for a minimum of 48 hours. Additionally, it is not possible to accept a person with any symptoms of Covid-19.

We hope you can understand our position on this and the caution that we must exercise.
