The Tower of London

Saturday, September 13th 2025

We hope that you can join us on Saturday, June 7th 2025 to join us at the Tower of London.

Discover London’s castle – a secure fortress, royal palace and infamous prison.

The Crown Jewels have been stored and displayed at the Tower of London since 1661, continuing a long tradition of storing precious objects here. This magnificent world-famous collection of 23,578 gemstones is part of the Royal Collection and boasts items that are still used in royal ceremonies today. You’ll find the Crown Jewels under armed guard in the Jewel House at the Tower of London.

Yeoman Warders, also known as ‘Beefeaters’, will share key stories from 1,000 years of history. Be entertained by tales of intrigue, imprisonment, execution, torture and much more…

Learn about the Tower’s iconic history as a fortress, palace and prison. Discover how William the Conqueror built the White Tower and hear tales of the prisoners who entered through the Traitors’ Gate.

Meet Us There & Coach Notes – IMPORTANT

We have listed a “meet us there” option in the form below, but please note that coach places will be assessed and considered in the first instance due to the costs of coach hire. Should there not be enough interest in coach places to warrant it, Spectrum reserves the right to either remove coach travel from the event offer and switch it to a “meet us there only” event or remove the event entirely.

“Meet Us There” tickets will be assessed in all aspects once the available quantity is known.

Please ensure you have read all the notes provided before requesting places!

We always contact every request once the event is processed and allocated, providing families with as much notice as possible. We initially confirm places and advise those on the waiting list by text message from our platform. We also issue a QR code to confirm places (which is how you sign in with us on the day on our iPad platform) around 24-48 hours before the event/session. Please ensure you read the information below on our notifications and recommendations.

Spectrum Away Days & Events

Spectrum away days and events are focused on accessibility, inclusion and keeping things as simple as possible for the families we support.

The pricing we provide as a charity is done as cost-effectively as possible. It often includes travel options, but it may not suit every family situation. We try to cover as many as we can. We work closely with many venues to provide opportunities and access in a supportive environment.

With any Spectrum event of this nature, you do not need to stick as a collective group throughout the day. Once we have you all checked in, you can spend the day at the venue as you wish, with other families or on your own.

Event Costs & Summary

The cost of going to The Tower of London with us is £25 per person. All persons must pay an initial non-refundable deposit of £5 per person.

The pricing provided to you is a bundled cost. It considers costs for children, adults, travel and carers required for ease of booking at a flat rate to simplify it.

If we can provide any confirmed places to meet us there, you will need to meet us on-site at the time designated by us without exception. “Meet Us There” tickets will be lowered if possible.

Due to the venue’s requirements, the payment cut-off date for this event will be August 1st, 2025. We will hand back any tickets that are not allocated to the venue on May 5th unless there is a significant demand to extend capacity further.

If you have any questions in regards to this event, then please don’t hesitate to contact us at events@spectrum.org.uk

Event Payment Options

Pay in full or over time

As well as having the option to pay by BACS or Card/ApplePay/GooglePay, please remember that your event/session invoices don’t have to be paid all in one go, or straightway (with the exception of any required deposits and if the event deadline date has passed).

We know how tough it can be for families with so many things to juggle, so we make it as flexible as we possibly can, with payment deadline dates pushed into the future as far as is viable.

You can make bank transfers (partial or full) as and when you wish, as long as the balance is complete by the payment deadline date. This could be monthly, or ad-hoc and you can always see how much you have left on our live invoices using the included “review and pay” link. We can also provide split/scheduled payments by card if you ask us to.

Our Place Request Process

Once we confirm your places with you via email/text, you will be sent two invoices (non-refundable deposit and balance). You can pay for these by bank transfer or by card online, whichever you wish. Your QR code (e-ticket) for the event (how you sign in with us) is typically sent around 48 hours before the event. This is all detailed in your confirmation notes from us.

If your circumstances change for any reason after requesting places, and you can no longer attend the event, please let us know at your earliest possible opportunity. Any tickets not paid before the deadline are at risk of cancellation if we see no contact from you; this will also impact future events for you. All deposits are due once your places are confirmed, regardless of cancellation. We can remove the balance of your booking though if received ahead of the deadline date.

Sadly, due to the high demands we face and in the interests of fairness, not showing up for events you are booked on to or not paying for them on will have an adverse effect on gaining places at future events due to the waiting lists in place. We can help in many situations, we simpy just ask you to get in touch with us.

Should you have any questions in regard to this event, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: events@spectrum.org.uk

Our Recommendation

If you are a Facebook user, we recommend joining our private members-only Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/spectrumcio – you will need your membership number with us (starting with the letters SC) after you request to join. If this isn’t accurately supplied, the request will be rejected.

In addition to general information, we post here when confirmations, QR codes, reminders, and so forth are sent out so you can be sure to check your email at the right times. This is helpful as many mail providers can filter such emails to junk and other areas, so you can be sure you don’t miss anything or lose your place if it doesn’t land in your main inbox directly.

Our Instagram & Facebook stories are also good places to get news in advance and see the different things we are working on behind the scenes. Please do follow our Instagram account, as we will be sharing information, stories, images and videos leading up to the visit of the main man in red!

  • The coach stays with us for the day so items can be left on it.

Event WhatsApp & Text Alerts

If you request places to our events and sessions, we recommend adding the Spectrum WhatsApp number 07822 013562 and our Text Magic number 07441 446910 to your phone, as well as whitelisting the email address events@spectrum.org.uk – These are all used at different times for both confirming places and event updates, as well as our SPECTRUM named text service.

Health Protection

Please note that if you have booked to attend one of our events and come the time of that event, one of the people attending in your party has fallen ill, we are very sorry but due to the nature of the children that we support, it will not be possible for that person to attend the event with us.

In line with the Health Protection Agency and similar to many local schools, it is not possible for us to accept a child at an event or session that has had sickness / diarrhoea until they have been clear of this for a minimum of 48 hours.

We hope very much that you can understand our position on this and the caution that we must exercise.
