Winter Lights 2021 – Anglesey Abbey

Thursday, December 2nd 2021 – From 530pm

We hope you can join the fantastic National Trust Anglesey Abbey team and us for their renowned Winter Lights!

This event takes place on the evening of Thursday, December 2nd 2021 and is limited to a maximum of 400 people. This is a private invitation night only with reduced numbers to provide a more relaxed environment. The evening will have a sensory feel as we take in the beautifully lit extensive grounds at this National Trust property at this magical time of year.

In tradition with previous visits, refreshments will be provided by us in the grounds during the walk. In addition to this, should you wish to, you will also be able to purchase additional street food options and hot drinks from the vendors there on the night.

On this special invitation night, Spectrum will have a dedicated access hour between 530pm and 630pm, where only Spectrum families are coming into the grounds. Based on average walking speeds, we estimate you will spend between an hour to an hour and a half in the grounds from the time you start. We can’t guarantee anyone a specific time slot of entry on the night from the slots we have to work with, but we have included a preference for the first half/second half of the slots in our form below. We will try to assist with these as much as we can, but it is very much best endeavours. National Trust staff and their families will enter before us and some of their other affiliates will enter after us.

The route through the grounds is fully accessible by wheelchairs and buggies. You do not need to be a National Trust member to attend this event.

Please note that no transport is provided to this event, and you must make your own way to the venue where there is ample free parking. The venue is based in Lode, Cambridge, at CB25 9EJ.

Please ensure you have read all the notes provided before booking. We will aim to confirm places for this event as quickly as possible, typically in less than a week.

Event Costs & Summary

The cost to attend our Winter Lights event is £5 per person, with no charge for Under 2’s. This will be required to secure your places, once we have confirmed back to you that they are reserved with us. Please only book places if you are sure you can attend as we expect a high demand for it, based on the initial interest registered with us ahead of this event being much higher than the places available. We do recommend booking for this event as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as it is always extremely popular.

For our Winter Lights event we regularly get asked if extended family, grandparents and so forth can attend. We are able to consider this but these places must be clearly detailed on your form. Member children will always be considered first.

Once your places are confirmed to you, your payment can be completed with us by Bank Transfer. All the details for this will be provided in your confirmation and invoice. The payment deadline for this event will be November 7th and tickets are non-refundable.

As this is an outdoor event, it will go ahead in the rain and so forth. It will only be cancelled if the weather is extreme.

If for any reason your circumstances change after requesting tickets and you are no longer able to attend the event, then please let us know at your earliest possible opportunity so your places can be reallocated or handed back to the venue. Any tickets not paid for by November 7th will be immediately cancelled and passed to the waiting list if there has been no contact. Sadly, due to the high demands we face and in the interests of fairness, not showing for events you are booked on to, or not paying for them, will have an adverse effect on gaining places at future events due to the waiting lists in place.

If you have any questions in regards to this event then please don’t hesitate to contact us at:

These need to be completed for insurance coverage purposes and also to help us plan future events and assess the demand for them. You only need to complete a membership form once a year and this will cover you for all future events and session attendances in the same calendar year.

Please note if you request places for an event and do not make payment for the trip prior to the cut off date provided for that trip, your places will automatically be offered to any persons on the waiting list to ensure the event is as full as possible.

Health Protection

Due to the nature of the children we support, a person can’t attend our events whilst ill.

This guidance is in line with the Health Protection Agency and similar to that of many local schools. We can’t accept a person at an event or session with sickness/diarrhoea until they have been clear of this for a minimum of 48 hours. Additionally, it is not possible to accept a person with any symptoms of Covid-19 or anyone who is in Covid isolation.

We hope you can understand our position on this and the caution that we must exercise.
