Spectrum Play – Pizza & Skate! 🛼🍕

March 8th 2026 – Spectrum Play

We hope you can join us at Spectrum Play – our dedicated play and meet SEND sessions at Littleport Leisure Centre.

For this session, it’s all about Pizza! Create and decorate your own simple pizza with a range of toppings and sauces! Eat it there or take it home as a takeaway! One small pizza is included per child attending.

We will also have roller skating in the Main Hall, soft play, sensory zone and arts and crafts!

We are delighted to join forces with Littleport Leisure to provide family sessions for our members in a private environment; siblings are most welcome.

As a guideline, our sessions are spread across 4 adjacent rooms/halls, each with a different setting, including a quiet sensory space and the Spectrum Cafe.

  • Meet other like-minded families in a private setting with themed sessions and light refreshments available
  • Expanding friendship circles, improving social skills and gaining peer support
  • Provide children with an opportunity to play, join in different sports and try new activities
  • Meet the Spectrum team and catch up on our other events and sessions
  • Learn about our other events, Away Days, Disneyland Paris, the Max Card and other services

We have seen a very high level of demand for the Spectrum Play sessions so far, so we will rotate places if needed to ensure fair access.

We always contact every request once the event is processed and allocated, providing as much notice as we can to families.

Pizza Notice - Allergy Information

Please note that by default, the pizza includes dairy and is not vegan. Naturally, no nuts are used to create the pizza; however, we cannot eliminate traces of nuts in the individual ingredients from manufacturers. Please do get in touch with us in advance of requesting places if you have any questions around this or if your child is vegan etc.

Forthcoming Events

IMPORTANT

Please remember that our regular events, such as Clip n Climb, Climb Quest, and Spectrum Play, are often released well in advance, often months ahead and the likes of Away Days and Disneyland Paris even further.

If you’d like to request places at future events, please check our event page to see what has been released. We always recommend booking early due to waiting lists often being in place, and to also still request places if a waiting list is present, as availability can often change due to the nature of the children we support.

Our Place Request Process

  • Once place requests are checked and processed, should we be able to confirm places for you, you will be notified in the first instance by text message. Ensure you have given us the correct number! If you are on the waiting list, it’s via email or text. Every request received is always respinded to.
  • We recommend saving the numbers 07822 013562 (WhatsApp) and our Text Alert number 07441 446910 to your phone for our notifications. We also send messages from a dedicated SPECTRUM named service.
  • Your QR code (e-ticket) for the event (how you sign in with us) is typically sent within the 24 hours before the session. This also includes a final reminder of the notes and timings from this page.

Event Summary

The session is scheduled for between 130pm and 330pm. The cost for this session is £15.00 per family.

The payment cut-off date for this event is February 28th 2025.
No refunds are possible after the deadline date, and all payments are due in full if your places are not cancelled before the deadline date, whether attending or not.

We will always prioritise direct family members (partner/siblings), but will accommodate extended family members wherever we can. There will be an additional cost per person for this. Our team will raise a query with you if the number of adults exceeds 2, or if you request additional places for more children or persons than you have registered with us.

Venue Notes

We are always looking for extra hands for these sessions, so do think about joining the team!

Each session is designed to be family-oriented and encourage peer interaction. As with our other sessions, your children are your responsibility for the sessions we provide. It is not possible to drop your children off and leave the venue, or expect our volunteers to watch them for you.

We provide no transport to the venue, but ample free parking is available onsite, just a short distance from the entrance, including blue badge places.

Please note that sound levels will vary each session depending on the capacity we are testing, the halls we use on the day and the activities we are doing.

Please always contact us with any issues or if you need to cancel your places ahead of the payment cut-off date. The team can be reached at events@spectrum.org.uk and will always try and help wherever they can.

Roller Skating 🛼

During this session, we are providing access to roller skating in the main hall under the guidance and instruction of our skating teacher, Rachel. We can assist beginners with the basics, as well as free skating for those who are already comfortable doing so.

Rachel can work with a group of up to 15 persons/skaters at a time. If Rachel has reached this number in the hall, we simply ask you to pop back a little later to join in. Skating numbers always reduce as the session progresses.

We will accommodate as many children as we possibly can. In joining the skating, you do so at your own risk.

You are welcome to bring your own skates if you have them already, we also have access to a range of skates as well at the centre. There is no additional cost for this. We also recommend wearing our pads/guards when skating, especially for your wrists in the event of a fall.

Please Stay In Touch!

As always if you have any questions about any aspect of of our events, the payment process, or cancellations email us at events@spectrum.org.uk and we will be happy to see where we can help!

Non-Payment, Non-Cancellation & Non-Attendance

We totally understand that plans and health can change, emergencies can happen, and life can just get in the way when you least expect it to, especially as parents, carers and guardians of children with additional needs.

We also understand that such things can also be hard to talk about at times, but we always try to help the families we support as much as we can. All we ask is that you stay in touch and just be honest with us; it is so much easier to help you this way.

Please do bear in mind that non-payment of invoices and not showing for events you have been given places for will have an adverse impact across the board for you, and access to our services will be restricted.

All invoices are due in full once the deadline date has passed, without any exception. Excluding non-refundable deposits, we can only assist with refunds or cancellations at no cost before deadline dates.

As a small children’s charity, we have to be incredibly careful with funds. Any items not being paid for, has a significant impact on us and will simply reduce or prevent future events from happening, as we are just not able to absorb losses of that nature. It also prevents other families from attending, which they could have done if they had had enough notice.

We keep any payments for all events and sessions open for as long as possible to help families, but we also have commitments and deadlines to the venues we work with, which we must adhere to or lose those opportunities. Even for events that are free to you, the venue still has costs, and staffing still has to be paid for!

Please remember that the following impact will occur if you don’t pay invoices or inform us of changes to bookings.

  • You will see your places cancelled for the event; a cancellation notice will be sent to you and access to ALL our services will be immediately restricted. New requests will automatically be moved to the reserve list.
  • Any bookings for events in the future you are on with us will be immediately suspended until the matter is resolved.
  • Spectrum reserves the right to pass outstanding invoices for commercial/legal/court collection, and additional charges and interest can be applied.
  • Additionally, Spectrum has a zero tolerance for any kind of behaviour/communication that is deemed to be rude/abusive/aggressive – our team are also parents of children with additional needs and volunteer their time.

Recommendation

If you are a Facebook user, we recommend joining our private members-only Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/spectrumcio – you will need your membership number with us (starts with the letters SC) after you request to join.

As well as general information, we post here when confirmations, QR codes, reminders and so forth are sent out, so you can be sure to check your email at the right times. This is helpful as many mail providers can filter such emails to junk and other areas, so you can be sure you don’t miss anything or lose your places if it doesn’t land in your main inbox directly.

Our Instagram & Facebook stories are also good places to get news in advance and see the different things we are working on behind the scenes. We also post images, reels and stories to Instagram of our Spectrum Play sessions!

Spectrum Event & Membership Notes - Important

Before you attend any of our Spectrum events or sessions, you must complete one of our Membership forms. You only need to register with us once and then just keep your family/contact information up to date.

Please note that when you are allocated places for an event, should you not complete the payment for it, this will impact future place requests and access to all our services will be restricted.

Event WhatsApp & Text Alerts

If you request places to our events and sessions, we recommend adding the Spectrum WhatsApp number 07822 013562 and our Text Magic number 07441 446910 to your phone, as well as whitelisting the email address events@spectrum.org.uk – These are all used at different times for both confirming places and event updates, as well as our SPECTRUM named text service.

Health Protection

Due to the nature of the children we support, a person can’t attend our events while ill.

In line with standard health policy, children with diarrhoea or vomiting must not attend any events until 48 hours have passed after their last episode. Additionally, persons who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with others.

We hope you can understand our position on this and the caution that we must exercise.
