We hope you can join us at Spectrum Play – our dedicated play and meet SEND sessions at Littleport Leisure Centre.
For this session, we will have Halloween-themed roller skating in the main hall, as well as our usual activities like soft play and arts and crafts! Halloween costumes very much welcomed for children and parents alike. We may do a little photoshoot and maybe a little Ghostbusters and slime too!
We have been delighted to join forces with Littleport Leisure to provide family sessions for our members in a private environment; siblings are always most welcome. We have been working with the Littleport Leisure team for over 5 years, so extending our work with them is fantastic. Our inclusive sessions here are designed to help families reduce their isolation and increase their social circles with like-minded families. Our sessions are created to encourage opportunities; here is just a small example of the session outline and our plans ahead.
As a guideline, our sessions will range from being spread across 4/5 adjacent rooms/halls/spaces, accommodating different settings.
- Meet other like-minded families in a private setting with light refreshments available
- Expanding friendship circles, improving social skills and gaining peer support
- Provide children with an opportunity to play, join in different sports and try new activities
- Meet the Spectrum team and learn about our sessions and events
- Provide themed sessions, parties and photoshoots
- Moving forward, Spectrum Play sessions provide us with the opportunity to introduce such options as sports, exotic animals, entertainment, expand refreshment options, utilise technology, movie options, including soft play, plus guest visits and much, much more.
We have seen a very high level of demand for the Spectrum Play sessions so far, so we will rotate places to ensure fair access.
We always contact every request once the event is processed and allocated, providing as much notice as we can to families. We initially confirm places and advise those on the waiting list by text message from our platform. We also issue a QR code to confirmed places, which is how you sign in with us on the day, within the 24hrs ahead of the event/session. Please ensure you read the information below on our notifications and recommendations.

Roller Skating
During this session, we are providing access to roller skating in the main hall under the guidance of our skating teacher Rachel. We will be providing options to assist beginners with the basics as well as free skating for those who are comfortable in doing so already.
For the beginners, Rachel can work with a group of up to 15 persons at a time and dependent on demand, we will assign time slots for people to join her in a separate area to the free skate. We will accommodate as many children as we possibly can. In joining the skating you do so at your own risk.
You are welcome to bring your own skates if you have them already, we also have access to a range of skates as well at the centre. There is no additional cost for this. We do have a range of wrist, knee and elbow pads for children to use. Wrist guards, especially, are always highly recommended for children skating.
Event Summary & Session Notes
The session is scheduled for between 130pm and 330pm. The cost for this session is £10.00 per family.
The payment cut-off date for this event is October 1st 2025.
The cost per session is revised each time to reflect new equipment, activities, and external partners joining in the sessions.
The capacity limit for each session can vary depending on the activities we have and the number of team members we have available on the day. We will always prioritise direct family members (partner/siblings) but will accommodate extended family members where we can. There will be an additional cost for this.
Over the coming months, we will adjust the sessions in general and adapt to different age ranges to ensure we can achieve the best fit across the board. We will change some aspects/activities each session to keep things fresh and try new things. We will also create some new volunteering roles for these sessions in due course and take feedback at different points to help with development.
We provide no transport to the venue, but ample free parking is available onsite, just a short distance from the entrance.
Please note that sound levels will vary each session depending on the capacity we are testing, the halls we use on the day and the activities we are doing.
Each session is designed to be family-orientated and encourage peer interaction. As with our other sessions, your children are your responsibility for the sessions we provide. It is not possible to drop your children off and leave the venue.
Please note that not completing payments for places you have confirmed at events and sessions will adversely impact you gaining places in the future. Please always contact us with any issues or if you need to cancel your places ahead of the payment cut-off date. The team can be reached at events@spectrum.org.uk and will always try and help wherever they can.
Our Place Request Process
- Once place requests are checked and processed, should we be able to confirm places for you, you will be notified in the first instance by text message.
- We recommend saving the numbers 07822 013562 (WhatsApp) and our Text Alert number 07441 446910 to your phone for our notifications. We also send messages from a dedicated Spectrum named service.
- After confirmation, you will receive your invoice from us.
- All balance payments can be cancelled up to the deadline date, but remain due and non-refundable after it.
- You can pay for these by bank transfer or by card online, or by using ApplePay or GooglePay.
- Your QR code (e-ticket) for the event (how you sign in with us) is typically sent around within the 24 hours before the event. This also includes a final reminder of the notes and timings from this page.
Non-Payment & Non-Cancellation
We totally appreciate that plans can change, health can change, emergencies can happen, and life can get in the way when you least expect it to, especially as parents, carers and guardians of children with additional needs, but we cannot emphasise enough how important it is to stay in touch with the team when it comes to bookings.
We understand that such things can happen and that they can definitely be hard to talk about at times, we always try to help the families we support as much as we can. Sometimes, this sadly just won’t be possible, but we will certainly try if there is a path to do so. All we ask is that you stay in touch and just be honest with us, it is so much easier to help you this way.
Please do bear in mind that non-payment of invoices or not communicating with us about items, tickets etc we have purchased for you in a timely manner will have adverse impact across the board. As a small children’s charity, we have to be incredibly careful with funds and items not being paid for, as it has a huge impact on us and will simply prevent future events from happening, as we are not able to absorb losses of that nature. It also prevents other families from attending, which they could have done if they had had enough notice to do so.
We leave payments for all events and sessions open as long as possible to help families, but at the same time, we have commitments and deadlines to the venues we work with, which we must adhere to, or lose such opportunities.
Please remember that the following steps can occur if you don’t pay invoices or inform us.
- Any invoice/payment outstanding at the deadline is at risk of cancellation and impacting you
- You can see your places cancelled for the event/session, and a cancellation notice will be sent to you.
- You will no longer be able to access ANY of our events, sessions or the Max Card
- Any bookings for events in the future you are on will be immediately suspended
- Your membership with us can be suspended or permanently revoked
- Spectrum reserves the right to pass outstanding invoices for commercial/legal collection, and additional charges can occur
- Additionally, Spectrum has a zero tolerance for any kind of behaviour/communication that is deemed to be rude/abusive – our team are also parents of children with additional needs and volunteer their time.
Please Stay In Touch!
As always if you have any questions about any aspect of of our events, the payment process, or cancellations email us at events@spectrum.org.uk and we will be happy to see where we can help!

Recommendation
If you are a Facebook user, we recommend joining our private members-only Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/spectrumcio – you will need your membership number with us (starts with the letters SC) after you request to join.
As well as general information, we post here when confirmations, QR codes, reminders and so forth are sent out, so you can be sure to check your email at the right times. This is helpful as many mail providers can filter such emails to junk and other areas, so you can be sure you don’t miss anything or lose your places if it doesn’t land in your main inbox directly.
Our Instagram & Facebook stories are also good places to get news in advance and see the different things we are working on behind the scenes. We also post images, reels and stories to Instagram of our Spectrum Play sessions!

Place Requests for Sunday, October 12th only
Please ensure you have completed one of our Membership Forms prior to requesting places at our events, as a valid Spectrum Membership number is required in the place request process below.
Your Spectrum Membership number starts with the letters SC and is not your Max Card number! Ensuring you have used your correct membership number with us, means your request is processed far quicker.
