The Covid pandemic has meant that very few opportunities have existed for the families we support to meet each other and gain face to face interaction with ourselves also. With many venues that we work with being constrained to being unable to work with groups presently due to capacity limits and regulations, especially indoor locations, this has limited those opportunities even further.
We are incredibly grateful to the National Trust for working with us and accommodating outdoor meetings at our long-term partner Anglesey Abbey (Cambs) and new partner Ickworth (Suffolk). This was incredibly helpful, more than they know, with so many of the families we support feeling on the edge of society prior to Covid, let alone the additional impact that it caused.
It was wonderful to meet within their grounds, gain social interaction, for children to play in a regular way, and have plenty of fresh air available as we enjoyed a picnic and a few hours amongst friends.
Thank you to all the teams at Anglesey Abbey and Ickworth for their support and ongoing commitment to our work.
