The beautiful surroundings of the Dean’s Gardens at Ely Cathedral, made for the perfect backdrop as we returned to events with the excellent KD Theatre, boarded the good ship Jolly Rodger and set sail for Treasure Island!
It was an absolute pleasure to be back amongst live theatre, and the socially distanced setting was perfectly delivered. A hugely enjoyable afternoon at this outdoor venue followed a picnic, as the stellar cast of Katherine Hickmott (Davina the Sea Witch), Terry Gauci (Ghost of Blackbeard Bandido), Oliver Scott (Amigo), Phil Evans (Jim), Tommy J (Silly Billy Bones) and Sean “Rollo” Rollason (Captain Jolly), delivered a really entertaining family experience, enjoyed by all, accompanied by the musical talents of JD & Aaron.
Another Daniel Bell script that included the perfect mix of a storyline incorporating pantomime humour, circus skills and plenty of comedy sketches. All wonderfully executed by a fantastic cast. Even the weather showed fantastic timing, as the show wrapped up to “Bring me Sunshine”, the sun made its appearance over the Cathedral on cue after a short spell of rain which had done nothing to dampen the fun.
A huge well done to KD Theatre on their performance and delivery and our ever grateful thanks for their support of the families of children with Autism, additional needs and disabilities we assist.
