Since our formation, we have been extremely fortunate to develop a wonderful partnership and close working relationship with Clip n Climb Cambridge, and this has been followed in Milton Keynes with the creation of their sister venue Climb Quest.
This has only been possible due to the dedication and kindness of the venue’s owners, Chris and Beth Walthew and their passion, and that of their teams, for the work we do in supporting families. Clip n Climb Cambridge and Climb Quest MK are very much a place where climbing meets Theme Park, presenting an engaging, colourful and energetic experience. Through the kindness shown to us by them, we have been able to provide, gift and support, simply thousands of climbing opportunities for families that we support over the years. Many of the families that have attended, would not normally have had the opportunity to do so. Our sessions with the venues quickly formed a core part of the activities we provide to the community.
In addition to this, they have also supported us at numerous points in fundraising aspects and sponsored challenges, of which we are extremely grateful. Chris has utilised the lockdown period to support the community once more and we are absolutely thrilled to be the beneficiary of his LEJOG 874 mile running challenge fundraiser. alongside Macintyre, whose work is also close to his heart.
LEJOG is the virtual challenge, based on the distance between Lands End and John O’Groats. Chris has made a great start to his challenge in the New Year and you can donate to his efforts at: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/chris-walthew-lejog
Alex and Justin from the Spectrum team recently caught up with Chris on his fundraising efforts and life in lockdown, so please take a moment to take a look at the video below from our YouTube Channel and like and subscribe to see more of our work!
A huge thanks to Chris once more for his wonderful efforts and support of our work, it means an incredible amount to us.
