A truly fantastic show was delivered much to our delight, by the brilliant team at KD Theatre at The Maltings in Ely as we headed to their Summer Spectacular!
A show that was full of variety and back to back superb performances brought about a wonderful evening, choreographed and produced by Daniel Bell & Katherine Hickmott. The show had a great summer feel to it and was delivered by a cast of the vocally talented Sam Woods, Lucy Bell, Phil Evans, Lucy Rollason, Clarissa Payne and Joshua Harding delivering their dance skills around the comedy work of host Sean “Rollo” Rollason. This was complimented by the brilliant juggling talents of the young Tommy J and a number of the KD Academy, some making their first appearance on stage.
We even saw our very own Alex Knowles and member Andy Heron make appearances on stage as “Susan”, the human ventriloquist dummy and they certainly played their parts on stage. This was fantastic simple comedy, brilliantly delivered by Rollo. Further still it was great to see a number of the children we support display their “flossing” dance skills alongside them.
We are already looking forward to the Christmas season and the arrival of Jack and the Beanstalk with the KD Team, one of our favourite times of the year but it would be fantastic to see KD bring a summer show back to The Maltings again next year. The seaside feel but by the river, certainly was a great fit.
