On Friday December 21st a little Christmas magic was sprinkled across Ely as Spectrum Cambridge teamed up with Grand Central Ely, Heart Cambs and Father Christmas to deliver their Breakfast with Santa.
Spectrum provide events and support for children with Autism, additional needs and disabilities alongside their families and carers across Cambridge, Ely & Newmarket and the surrounding villages. In recent months they have won both the Luminus Inspiration awards and Cambridge News Community awards for their work
The event hosted by Grand Central Ely consisted of an English buffet breakfast on arrival with Christmas snacks before Santa dropped in to catch up with everyone on their Christmas preparations. He then led a fantastic interactive show of Christmas songs and themed magic for all before presenting the children with gifts from Heart Cambs and the Giving Tree, Spectrum Cambridge and a special Christmas coin from himself for the children to place under their pillows on Christmas Eve.
Mayor of Ely, Michael Rouse, was also in attendance for the event and expressed both his Christmas best wishes to all alongside his gratitude for local children and families being supported in this way and his pleasure at organisations working together to create memorable events.
A fantastic event to finish the year off before Christmas!
