Christmas Eve magic was in abundance in Ely as Spectrum Cambridge teamed up with The Cutter Inn, Star Radio, The Grafton Gifting Tree, Ely City Council and Father Christmas to deliver our renowned Breakfast with Santa, not forgetting his exceptional elves Jingleberry and Ellie.
Spectrum provide events and support for children with Autism, additional needs and disabilities alongside their families and carers across Cambridge, Ely & Newmarket and the surrounding villages.
The event hosted once more by the wonderful team at The Cutter, consisted of a cooked English buffet breakfast on arrival as Santa mingled with those attending to catch up on their Christmas preparations and plans. Santa, Jingleberry and Ellie then led a fantastic interactive Christmas show of Christmas songs, with the children joining in with bells, making a Christmas wish for those in the community and taking tips on what Rudolph and the Reindeer’s favourite snacks really are!
As per our annual tradition, Santa then took some time to speak to everyone individually, presenting them with a special commemerative coin to keep under their pillow on Christmas Eve. He then presented the children with gifts that just would’nt have been possible without Star Radio & The Grafton Gifting Tree, for which we are ever grateful, creating many a happy smile and happy tear alike, thanks to a wonderful community spirit and effort. A massive thanks to Josh Lovatt and Tori Markillie for all their efforts.
Mayor of Ely, Michael Rouse and Mayoress, Lauren Rouse, who are also wonderful supporters of the work that we do, were also in attendance for the event. Michael kindly provided a lovely message of community spirit at this important time of year.
Our of our favourite events of the year was truly remarkable again. A huge thanks to everyone involved and the magic they created.
