As you all know, at the present moment we face troubling and uncertain times due to the global impact of COVID-19, the illness caused by Coronavirus.
Currently, Spectrum continues to operate as normal and we are contactable as always via email to hello@spectrum.org.uk, social media messaging and via the phone. Should this change in anyway, this will of course be communicated to you. By design, our team is geographically dispersed and very much used to working in this way.
Event Impact
Due to the nature of events and sessions that we provide for the families we support, it is more than probable that we will see continued disruption and cancellation to these moving forwards, especially in the near future. This is of a course a situation that is continually monitored, alongside all the partners and venues that we work with.
Should an event cancellation occur, the process for communicating this to our members is as follows:
- An intial general notice of cancellation will be posted on our private Facebook Spectrum Members Group – please do join this group if you are a member and have not done so already. You will be asked to enter your Spectrum membership number when you click to join, to verify yourself.
- An email will follow to all those members scheduled to attend the event, confirmimg the cancellation as soon as it can be compiled and sent.
The situation with COVID-19 remains dynamic, so we do appreciate your support during these times whilst such matters are worked with. New events and rescheduled events will of course go back into our diary as soon as possible, and you will be alerted to this as usual via email and within the Facebook group.
You do not need to check in on events you are booked onto, you will be proactively contacted by us, should they be cancelled, disrupted or changed in anyway.
Patience & Considerations
Whilst we fully appreciate the situation we face causes many heightened anxieties and concerns to us all, we do ask for patience in such matters of cancellations, as there are aspects we need to consider. Many of the venues we work with, may make us aware of a planned cancellation, but it can take a little time to fully filter through, especially on paid for events where such things as refunds, alternative options and so forth are concerned. We ask you to bear with us at this point where such processes are worked with and implemented.
This is because such venues often have multitudes of bookings and so forth to work through under similar circumstances and will just do so as quickly as they possible can. They often have to work in date order as a prioritisation for obvious reasons. Each venue is different in terms of their arrangements and staffing but we will of course continue to update you at each step as we have done to date.
Guidance and Help
For further guidance on the present situation with COVID-19, or should you believe you are potentially showing symptoms of it, please do follow the information provided by the NHS and the Government for this.
The links below will take you directly to these information pages and they are updated all the time and can change. These are all also accessible via the news banner on our website homepage at anytime for ease.
We also encourage our members to still utilise such things as our private Facebook Group for Members during this time, especially with disruption to schools. for support and a level of social interaction with likeminded families, with many usual routes in our day to day lives limited or not available currently.
Please continue to help and support each other as much as you can, through available channels. We thank you once more for your support.
